We would like the postcards to be A6 size. I have created a couple of different designs that we could use for the postcards. Here are a few of the sketches with the first designs on them:
The first idea that I had was to include a piece of our clients art work at one side of the postcard and then add the information on the other side. Although, after talking to our client she told us that this would leave a lot of empty space which means I would be able to fit all of the information onto one side which is a negative point as she would like the postcards to be double sided.
The second idea that I had was to have Nikki Sims Art going diagonally down the middle of the page with rectangles going down each side of it. These rectangles would be made up of different colours from the rainbow but lighter, for example, using pink instead of red and using baby blue rather than a darker shade of blue. Although, after consulting with our client she gave us feedback on this idea, saying that she thought that the colours used might not represent her well to corporate companies, so this design may not put across the right idea to those she is aiming at.
The third design that I have created is to have square blocks at the bottom of the page. Each square block will be split into four which is shown in one of the blocks above. Each quarter will be a different shade of one colour to give the block a 3D effect. Although, again she thought that the colours used might not represent her well to corporate companies, so this design may not put across the right idea to those she is aiming at.
The fourth idea is quite similar to the first one. This would be two of our clients portraits that she has drawn cut in half. Each half of their face would be put at each side of the page and then the information about our client would go in the middle. I would put in the middle our clients name and what she does. Then on the back of the postcard I would put another half faced portrait and include our clients information such as her email, website, address and her twitter. I really like this idea the most so far and our client agrees and said she really likes this idea.
This is the first design that I created. Although, our client wasn't too sure on this design. She told us that she thought that it was a bit plain and that it might look better with a bit of colour in there and I agree with this. She loves the idea of having the postcard as an A6 size although she said she would appreciate it if we worked on a different design for her that involves more colour. She likes the font that we have used in the design and said that she is happy with it.
This is out second design that we have shown to our client. She likes this design a lot more - not only because it involves more colour but the fact that the colour is given to the eye but her own artwork. The only problem she had with this design is that fact that she would like on the front of the postcard what she does rather than her address. She would like us to put her address on the back of the postcard and put what she does on the front.
This is our final design which our client is happy with.
